Public Education Request
Thank you for your interest in the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District Community Events and Public Education Division. In order to provide the best customer service and prevent scheduling conflicts, the following guidelines must be followed.
Public education requests and Community Event Requests are scheduled through the Department’s Community Events/Public Education Office. Please do not contact the fire stations or crews directly to make requests. Requests received through this office only will be considered.
All requests should be made with reasonable advanced notice of your event to help us balance community requests with emergency responses, trainings, fire inspections, and other firefighter responsibilities. The day-to-day schedule is very full with the various functions required of a modern fire department.
Kindly understand your tour or our presence at your event may be interrupted. All LWFD Fire Apparatus and Fire Stations remain in-service 24-hours and can be dispatched to an emergency at any time, i.e., before or during an event. This may result in a delayed or possibly interrupted appearance. On occasion, they may be unable to appear. In such case, fire crews are unable to notify the event organizer of any delays or cancellations while responding to an emergency call. If your tour or event is interrupted by an emergency call, you will be given the opportunity to reschedule your visit.
Please note, when attending a fire station tour or having fire apparatus visit you, there is equipment and tools that can cause serious injury. It is important to follow the directions given to you by the firefighters. The adult chaperones are responsible for assisting the firefighters in keeping the safety of the children the number one priority.
Upon receipt of your request, it will be reviewed by the Community Events/Public Education Office to determine if we can accommodate it. Once your request is submitted, someone will be in contact within ten (10) business days. If there is an unexpected change with your event or you have any questions regarding fire and life safety
please phone us at (630) 353-3033 or email Neil Berkowitz at firstname.lastname@example.org or Douglas Mulford email@example.com or Michael Sharp firstname.lastname@example.org .
