 LWFD Participates in 1st Annual Career Development Fair

The 1st Annual Career Development Fair took place at the Woodridge Park District Community Center at 2600 Center Drive, Woodridge on March 3, 2007 from 9:00a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

This event was for all junior high, high school students and their parents to explain that there are a variety of career options available to students. Attendees from the public and private sector job market discussed strategies / ideas to help children prepare for their career.  The Lisle-Woodridge Fire District conducted workshops on resume writing and mock interviews, in conjunction with the Village of Woodridge and the Woodridge Community Resource Center, who hosted the event. The event organizer was the CRC Director Bridget Johnson

Exhibitors included: Woodridge Police Department Lisle - Woodridge Fire District, Woodridge Park District , Downers Grove National Bank, Max Armstrong of WGN Broadcasting, Shane Kreifel of Edward Jones, Jewel / Osco, Westwood College, Starbucks Coffee / Bolingbrook Janes Avenue location, DuPage County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Bugle Newspapers, FBI, The Upper Crust, Joan Leslie Ministries.

Over 100 persons were in attendance.
