Fire at Shurgard, 2109 Ogden Ave., Lisle

At 7:02 PM on October 23, 2007, the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District responded to a structure fire in a storage facility located at 2109 Ogden Avenue, Lisle. First units arrived on the scene at 7:05 PM and reported smoke in the area. Upon further investigation, fire was noted in two adjoining storage units. The storage units contained a variety of ordinary combustible materials, household goods, antiques, mechanical equipment and vehicles. The majority of the fire was quickly suppressed. However, due to the density of the materials contained in the units, firefighters continued to work for several hours to insure that the fire was completely extinguished.

There were no civilian or fire personnel injuries.

Fire investigators are in the process of investigating the cause of the fire.

No further information is available at this time.
