Haiti Medical Relief Effort

Lisle Woodridge Fire District Firefighter/Paramedic Brian Fitzgerald has been selected to join Dr. Debra Drengenberg of Dixon, Illinois - Lynn McCoy, RN of Amboy, Illinois - Beth Fiorini, MS, RN of Rock Falls, Illinois - Jean Zinnen, LPN of Morrison, Illinois - Heidi Taylor, RN of Sebring, Florida and an interpreter to provide medical care near the National Palace at Port au Prince.

Organizing this effort is Mike Zurn, Assistant Director of Haiti Bible Mission. “Brian comes with 25 years of emergency response training and experience. Everyone on the team is expecting a lot from Brian on this relief mission.” Zurn said.

The group plans to depart from Chicago - O’Hare on February 7th and arrive in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, later that evening. The next morning they will take ground transportation across the border and head for Port au Prince. Assisting the group will be Youth With A Mission. The team plans to return on February 14th.

“The medical community has been so supportive in outfitting our medical team with plenty of supplies and medications - things that will enable us to help some hurting people.” said Dr. Drengenberg, a family practice physician from Dixon, Illinois who was among the first to volunteer for the team.
