- Structure Fire, 740 Riedy Rd., July 23, 3016
At 10:54 AM on July 23, 2016 the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District responded to a reported structure fire at 740 Riedy Road in Lisle. Upon arrival fire companies found a small fire in the rear of the structure that had extended to the attic space. The homeowner was in the process of attempting to extinguish the fire with a garden hose. Fire companies quickly extinguished the fire, checked for fire extension, as well as performed salvage and overhaul for homeowner’s property conservation. The occupant stated he was alerted by a smoke detector in the house. He discovered the fire and called 9-1-1. The fire was brought under control at 11:16 hours and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
One firefighter was transported to an area hospital for evaluation with non-life threatening conditions. The Lisle-Woodridge Fire District received assistance from several neighboring agencies during this incident.
