“Keep the Wreath Red” Program Successful Once Again

Once again, the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District, through education of its citizenry, was able to “Keep the Wreath Red” over this past holiday season.

The “Keep the Wreath Red” program was originated by the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District’s Chief Emeritus Paul Boecker as a means to remind our residents of the importance of fire safety and prevention, particularly during the holiday season.  The program is now used statewide.

Each year wreaths bearing red light bulbs are placed on each station in the Fire District.  If there is a fire caused by holiday decorations or the like, a red bulb is replaced with a white one.

Since the program started, there has never been a white bulb replacing a red one on the wreaths in the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District.

If you have further questions on this or any program offered by the Lisle-Woodridge Fire District, please call the Lisle-Woodridge Fire Prevention Bureau at 630-353-3030.
