"Ways to Serve Residents Better"

The Lisle-Woodridge Fire District offers the following suggestions would greatly assist us in providing emergency services to you:

9-1-1...For Fire, Medical, or Police emergencies, dialing this number from your home telephone will provide the dispatcher with your name, address and phone number on their computer screen as soon as you call.  You will need to remain calm and describe the nature of the emergency as best you can.  If you are calling from a cell phone, you will need to provide the nature and location of the emergency.  Always stay on the line until the dispatcher tells you to hang up.

Number your homes...The Lisle-Woodridge Fire District asks that all residents mark their homes with the correct street address numbers in a highly visible and well lit area.  It can sometimes be difficult for responding personnel to locate house numbers in wooded areas and at night.  Placing reflective numbers on your mailbox is also a good idea - especially when your house is located a long distance from the street.

Access to Fire Hydrants...Just as we recommend that you keep a fire hydrant near your house free from snow in the winter, we also recommend that you keep the hydrant free from any debris, weeds, bushes or any other objects the rest of the year.  This will make it easier for responding personnel to locate and/or access the hydrant during a fire emergency.

We appreciate your assistance to allow us to serve you better.

For further information on this or any other Lisle-Woodridge Fire Prevention program, please call Lieutenant Jay Caron at 630-353-3059.
