Structure Fire - 6199 Hinterlong, Lisle

At 10:58 P.M. on Thursday, February 18th, 2010, the Lisle Woodridge Fire District was notified by way of 911 call from a resident reporting a fire inside the attached garage and was dispatched to 6199 Hinterlong Court Lisle.

A General Alarm was immediately dispatched, sending four (4) engines, two (2) ladder trucks, two (2) medic units, and a Command Team to the scene, for a minimum of 25 Lisle-Woodridge Fire District personnel.

The first unit arrived on scene at 11:01 P.M. and reported a small fire inside of the garage and all occupants were out of the building.

The arriving engine crew stretched a 2 ½” skid hose line to the front of the home and quickly extinguished the small fire. A search of the home was completed and all residents were safely removed from the hazard. There was no further flame or smoke damage reported.

The fire was under control approximately 10 minutes after the Fire District’s arrival, however units remained on the scene until approximately 1 hour 20 minutes performing salvage duties and overhauling the burned areas of the structure. The building was determined to be inhabitable.

Lisle-Woodridge Fire District units were assisted on the scene by the Downers Grove and Naperville Fire departments. The Lombard and Wheaton Fire Departments provided coverage at Lisle-Woodridge Fire District stations that were vacated to fight the fire.

The alarm was struck out at 11:15 P.M. There were no injuries to any civilian or emergency responders during this incident.

The Lisle-Woodridge Fire District fire investigation team is on the scene investigating the cause of the fire. No further information is available at the time. Additional information will be disseminated as it becomes available. If you have further questions, please contact Bureau Chief Jim French at 630.353.3055.
